Uzbekistan, China Discuss Logistics and Silk Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasimov, held talks in Nanjing with representatives of SOHO Holding Group and ten major companies from Jiangsu Province operating in logistics, trade and sericulture.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for establishing a modern logistics hub aimed at improving transport and trade connectivity between the two countries. Particular attention was given to the development of sericulture clusters.
Opportunities were explored to expand existing production facilities and create new clusters in Jizzakh Region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The discussions also covered cooperation in housing development, including plans to build modern residential areas in New Tashkent with the involvement of Chinese expertise and investment.
Following the talks, the sides agreed on next steps to further develop and implement the proposed initiatives, including continued engagement on specific project areas.
