Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft law on amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan" has been published for discussion.

The document proposes the following innovations in the use of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan, subject to the necessary respect for the flag:

- allow the use of the state flag at sports competitions, mass sports and recreation, cultural and other mass events, family holidays, memorable dates and other events;

- allow the use of the flag and signs with its image in public places and buildings, places of residence or work, as well as in the territories adjacent to them, including the interior of vehicles;

- establishment of a legal basis for the use of signs with the image of the State Flag in the symbols of state bodies (flag, heraldic sign) and on their official websites;

- permission to use the image of the national flag to decorate outerwear;

Also, the draft law clearly defines cases in which disrespect for the state flag is not allowed.
