Uzbekistan, Brazil Expand Political and Economic Ties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Brazil discussed expanding political, economic and investment cooperation during talks between Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The two sides focused on strengthening political dialogue as well as broadening trade, economic and investment ties. Particular attention was given to untapped cooperation potential in agriculture, logistics, education, cultural and humanitarian exchange, and tourism.

During the visit, a business forum and roundtable were held with participation from representatives of Uzbek and Brazilian business communities. Major Brazilian companies and associations, including Embraer, WEG, Petrobras, ABIEC, ABPA and ApexBrasil, took part in the events. Meetings were also held in B2B and B2G formats aimed at establishing new business contacts and discussing potential projects.

The sides also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations and BRICS. Uzbekistan considers Brazil an important partner in Latin America.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides agreed to further develop bilateral cooperation through concrete projects and new initiatives. The Brazilian foreign minister’s visit is expected to contribute to strengthening and expanding relations between the two countries.
