The Belgian delegation was led by the director for Central and Eastern Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Gunther Sleeuwagen.

The parties discussed development of bilateral relations in all areas of interaction, exchanged views on the state and the situation in the region and world.

It was noted that during the past 20 years after establishing diplomatic relations, significant positive experience of cooperation is accumulated by joint efforts, a reliable treaty-legal base was created. Further development of Uzbek-Belgian dialogue is equitable to the interests of both parties, which puts the issue of intensifying contacts at different levels on the agenda.

It was underlined that the trade-economic and investment areas are considered by Uzbekistan and Belgium as one of the key components of cooperation. The parties support implementation of joint projects in such areas of industry as textile, carpetweaving, food, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, electrical equipments, processing of agricultural products, tourism.

The issues of cultural-humanitarian exchanges were given a particular attention during the consultations.
