There is a three-month queue for Nexia and Matiz cars made at the Uz-Daewoo plant, a local subsidiary of South Korea’s carmaker Daewoo, in car dealerships, since their bulk is exported to Russia. This is why Uzbekistan has become the leader of AvtoVAZ’s car exports, where 6,280 cars, or 6% of the plant’s total exports, have been delivered.
AvtoVAZ said Russian car deliveries to the country had increased more than threefold last year against 2006. The export price of Uzbek cars is much lower than on the country’s domestic market.
