Uzbekistan attracts a loan for the purchase of electric trains and passenger cars

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC, the German Development Bank KfW and Deutsche Bahn AG signed a quadripartite memorandum on the use of a credit line for the purchase of electric trains and passenger cars for Uzbekistan.

The document was signed within the framework of the international exhibition of transport technologies InnoTrans 2022 in Berlin. The amount of the credit line is not reported.

The delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings with representatives of the world’s leading companies in the field of railway transport. In particular, with the Polish concern "Pesa" specializing in the production of trains, wagons, trams and their modernization. Negotiations were also held with the Chinese corporation CRRC Corporation Limited, which occupies almost half of the world market in the production of railway transport.

During the negotiations, acting Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC H. Khasilov said that within the framework of using a preferential credit line from the German Development Bank KfW, for the purchase of the necessary electric trains and passenger cars, a tender would be held and invited both large manufacturing companies to take part in it.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan Temir Yollari plans to purchase 34 electric trains, 6 diesel trains and at least 100 modern passenger cars.
