Uzbekistan 17/06/2009 Uzbekistan assumes SCO presidency

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan took over the presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) from the Russian Federation.

The corresponding decision was adopted at the SCO leaders’ summit in Yekaterinburg, Russia, which took place on 15-16 June.

In line with the decision, next summit of the SCO leaders will be held in Tashkent in 2010.

The SCO unites Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China.
