Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The State Security Service (SSS) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Uzbekistan carried out large-scale anti-terrorist operations, "Anti-Terrorist Sweep," from January 27 to 31, 2025. As a result of the operation, 169 individuals were arrested.
According to the SSS, 946 special operations were conducted during the campaign, aimed at stabilizing the criminal situation and identifying criminal groups and individuals.
A total of 418 individuals who were prone to committing serious and particularly serious crimes and who were negatively influencing the country’s situation were identified. Criminal cases have been initiated against them, and the activities of 42 criminal groups were halted.
Additionally, 399 individuals were held administratively liable, and 109 wanted persons were detained. The operation also led to the seizure of a significant amount of contraband, including 80 units of firearms and ammunition, 30,337 kg of narcotics, 4,521 units of powerful drugs, as well as 186 knives, 22 batons, and 17 knuckle dusters.
The SSS stated that it would continue measures to stabilize the criminal situation in the country.
