Uzbekistan approves the regulations on the procedure for issuing a qualification certificate to guides and tour guides

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “Regulations on the procedure for issuing a qualification certificate to guides (guides-translators), tour guides and instructors-guides” was approved.

This is stated in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 433 "On measures to create favorable conditions for the restoration and development of the tourism industry in the Republic of Uzbekistan".

This Regulation determines the procedure for the qualification examination of guides (guides-translators), tour guides and instructors-guides, and the issuance of a qualification certificate and a badge.

The Regulations establish the qualification requirements for applicants wishing to receive a qualification certificate and badge, as well as the procedure for assigning a certain category. The qualification exam will be conducted in two stages: - the first stage - testing using a special automated system.

A special automated system excludes the possibility of repeating test tasks from applicants and displays the test results immediately after its completion; - the second stage is oral in the form of a demonstration. A demonstration exam is held for applicants who are participating in the qualification exam for the first time in order to assess the excursion skills and knowledge of the material.

In order to objectively assess the qualifications of guides (guides-translators), tour guides, instructors-guides, responsible persons of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, the Institute for Tourism Development, representatives of higher educational and scientific institutions in the field of history, architecture and religious studies, linguistics, subjects of the tourism sector, including guides (guides-translators), tour guides and instructors-guides of the highest category are involved in the qualification commission.

The working body that carries out the entire production process for the qualification examination and the issuance of a qualification certificate and badge is the Institute for Tourism Development.

The regulation clearly regulates the terms of refusal to issue, cancellation and termination of the qualification certificate. The conditions for filing an appeal in case of disagreement of the applicant with the results of the qualifying exam are also provided.

Control over compliance with the requirements of this Regulation is carried out by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development. Persons guilty of violating the requirements of this Regulation are liable in accordance with the law.
