Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 April, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted Resolution No. 210, officially approving the Strategy for Enhancing the Public Finance Management System for the period 2025–2030.

This strategy will serve as the foundation for consistent and structural reforms in the financial sector, aligning with the key directions of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Uzbekistan collaborated closely with leading international financial institutions in drafting the strategy, including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Significant contributions were also made by the Asian Development Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women, and the French Development Agency. The document draws on best international practices and the experience of countries with comparable financial and economic conditions.

The strategy outlines five key areas, 16 goals, and 45 specific measures aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public finance management. Among the top priorities are strengthening budgetary discipline, ensuring the strategic orientation of medium-term budget planning, increasing the efficiency of public spending and investment, ensuring quality execution of the state budget, and improving fiscal reporting and transparency.

The primary objective of the strategy is to streamline public finance management reforms, enhance transparency in the budgeting process, strengthen financial accountability, and achieve sustainable outcomes in budget planning and execution by 2030.

The adopted strategy is set to become a vital tool for consolidating government efforts toward establishing a modern, resilient, and effective public resource management system that supports the long-term socio-economic development of Uzbekistan.
