Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved new regulations on the establishment of tourism clusters, opening up fresh opportunities for the development of the country’s tourism sector.
Under the new regulations, companies and entrepreneurs seeking tourism cluster status can now apply to the Tourism Committee. Applications may be submitted either online or through traditional postal methods.
A “tourism cluster,” as defined in the approved document, refers to a network of organizations and businesses providing tourism-related and supplementary services, creating a comprehensive infrastructure for a seamless travel and leisure experience.
To accelerate tourism development, the country plans to build at least 100 new hotels with a total capacity of 15,000 beds. Special emphasis will be placed on constructing eco-hotels and developing tourism clusters, which are expected to become key drivers of sectoral growth.
One of the priority areas is boosting domestic tourism by 40% through family-friendly travel support programs, which aim to enhance citizens’ interest in exploring Uzbekistan’s diverse destinations.
