Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has issued a decree regulating the procedure for signing electronic employment contracts. Amendments have been made to the regulations of the Unified National Labor System (UNLS), which was adopted in December 2019.
According to the new rules, employment contracts in electronic format must be signed through the UNLS platform and digitally signed by both parties – the employer and the employee. Additional agreements must also be signed with a digital signature.
All employers are required to issue electronic employment contracts through the UNLS system and register contracts signed on paper in the system. Exceptions are made for organizations with confidential staffing schedules and employers working in the field of national security.
Since 2020, Uzbekistan has implemented mandatory online registration of employment contracts. At the same time, electronic workbooks were introduced, allowing employees to access information about their work history, including records of previous jobs.
