Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will annually buy 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.

According to him, the import of Russian gas will start tomorrow. Mirziyoyev, Tokayev and Putin are expected to take part in this event.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan announced on 25 September that the republic had prepared the infrastructure to begin importing natural gas from Russia.

According to the Kazakh side, Kazakhstan will complete work on preparing infrastructure for gas pumping by the end of October.
