Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held talks with representatives of Russia’s X5 Group, one of the country’s largest retail companies.

During the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture and X5 Group, aimed at fostering mutually beneficial partnerships, expanding exports of value-added agricultural products, and strengthening food security.

The agreement outlines plans to promote Uzbek agricultural products in international markets under a unified national brand, simplify export procedures, introduce modern production and packaging systems aligned with international standards, and implement joint innovative projects.

The two sides engaged in detailed discussions on the export of Uzbek agricultural goods to the Russian market, the establishment of efficient logistics chains, the expansion of competitive production, and the diversification of exported product ranges.

X5 Group representatives praised Uzbekistan’s agricultural potential, favorable climate conditions, and capacity to grow high-quality produce, emphasizing the strategic and long-term nature of the partnership.

X5 Group is one of Russia’s leading retail companies, operating in 75 regions and managing a network of nearly 30,000 stores. Its key retail brands include Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Chizhik, Okolo, Viktoria, Krasny Yar, and Slata. As of early 2025, X5 Group employs over 432,000 people, making it one of the country’s largest employers.
