Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place at UNESCO Headquarters between the Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan Gayane Umerova, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO Kamol Mukhtarov, and the Director for Gender Equality at UNESCO, Begonya Lasagabaster.

The sides discussed strengthening cooperation in supporting women and enhancing their role in culture, education, and social initiatives.

The Uzbek delegation presented initiatives under the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy aimed at supporting women in the fields of culture, arts, and digital technologies.

They discussed projects to develop female leadership in creative industries, expand women’s participation in the digital environment, and create conditions for their professional growth in the cultural sector.

The meeting also explored prospects for expanding cooperation with UNESCO and organizing a special event dedicated to development and collaboration in areas covered by the organization’s mandate during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand.
