Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place at UNESCO headquarters between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, Kamol Mukhtarov, Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO, and Gabriela Ramos, UNESCO’s Deputy Director-General for Social and Human Sciences.

The primary focus of the discussion was the launch of the UNESCO-Uzbekistan International Prize named after Beruni. The inaugural award ceremony is planned to take place during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand.

Other topics included the UNESCO report on Uzbekistan’s readiness for artificial intelligence technologies, the country’s participation in the UNESCO Youth Forum, and organizing the exhibition "Uzbekistan at the Crossroads of the Great Silk Road" at UNESCO headquarters.
