Uzbekistan and Uganda discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 16 October  2024, a meeting took place between Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Moses Kawaaluko Kizige, Uganda’s first ambassador to Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Rasulov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and expressed wishes for success in strengthening friendship and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Uganda.

The parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, placing particular emphasis on the agro-industrial sector and the development of trade and economic ties.

At the end of the negotiations, it was decided to hold an online meeting between the chambers of commerce of the two countries to further discuss interaction issues. The importance of mutual visits and the implementation of joint projects for strengthening economic relations was also emphasized.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Uganda on 18 January 2024, marked an important step toward long-term cooperation.
