Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Agree to Resume Direct Flights
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have reached an agreement to restore direct air services. Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov announced this in an interview with Uzbekiston 24 TV channel following a high-level trilateral meeting.
“At present, there are no direct flights from Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan. Today we signed the relevant document, and in the near future it will be possible to establish regular air connections between our countries,” the minister said.
Following the meeting of the leaders of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan in Avaza, a joint protocol was signed on the development of cooperation in civil aviation between the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Airlines, represented by its chairman, Dovran Saburov.
