Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan, in collaboration with Turkic states, plans to create a scientific satellite, announced Mukhiddin Ibragimov, head of the aerospace development department at the "Uzbekcosmos" agency, during a press conference in Tashkent.
The satellite’s launch is scheduled for mid-2026. As Ibragimov mentioned, the project does not involve the satellite being entirely Uzbek, but local scientists are involved in the development of one of its components.
The goal of the project is to enhance skills and technologies in satellite development, assembly, launch, and management.
Earlier, in 2023, Ibragimov had spoken about the CubeSat scientific and educational satellite project, with proposed trials to be conducted using facilities in the United Arab Emirates.
