Uzbekistan and the World Justice Project Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Muzraf Ikramov, Deputy Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Mark Lewis, representative of the World Justice Project (WJP) and head of the public sector cooperation department.
During the meeting, they discussed the legal reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the country’s achievements in the rule of law index, as well as the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
Within the framework of the Tashkent Law Spring forum, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Justice and the WJP, aimed at further deepening their cooperation.
Mark Lewis highly praised the reforms in Uzbekistan, noting that the country is one of the fastest-growing in the rule of law index. Additionally, the regional rule of law index assessment system was recognized as a pioneering example for other countries.
The parties agreed to continue advancing legal reforms, addressing existing challenges, and exchanging best practices.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mark Lewis invited the Uzbek delegation to participate in the World Justice Forum, which will be held in Warsaw.
