Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Tajikistan intend to jointly build two hydroelectric stations. This was announced by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev after talks with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in Tashkent.

The head of Uzbekistan noted that hydroelectric stations with a capacity of more than 320 megawatts will be built on the river Zarafshan in the territory of Tajikistan.

According to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Tajikistan said that there are ready projects that have been audited by international organizations.

Emomali Rahmon added that Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will use electric power produced at these stations to develop their economies.
