Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov met with the head of the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan Rajabboy Ahmadzoda. At the meeting, issues of implementing joint investment projects were discussed.

The parties discussed the potential for developing cooperation in the field of agriculture. The Tajik side expressed its readiness to cooperate in several directions.

Khujand Atlas showed particular interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of growing silk fiber and producing fabrics.

The Tajik delegation also expressed its intention to cooperate in the areas of grain growing, potato growing, horticulture, the production of mineral fertilizers and the development of greenhouse farming, as well as the introduction of a drip irrigation system.

Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov noted that Uzbekistan has significant experience in these areas and expressed readiness for cooperation. He proposed signing a roadmap for the implementation of joint projects.

The parties agreed to organize visits of working groups to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to further develop cooperation in these areas.
