Uzbekistan and Spain strengthen air connectivity
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The national carrier Uzbekistan Airways has launched regular direct flights on the Tashkent – Madrid route, Dunyo news agency reported.
The opening ceremony for the new route took place at Madrid’s Adolfo Suárez Airport (Barajas, Terminal 1). The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Spain, Farukh Tursunov, as well as representatives of the airline.
The new route, which takes about eight hours, has become one of the longest in the Uzbekistan Airways network. Flights will operate weekly on Mondays. Departure from Tashkent is scheduled for 10:00 local time, with arrival in Madrid at 17:10. The return flight departs from the Spanish capital at 18:35 and lands in Tashkent the following day at 04:40 AM.
The launch of direct air services between the two countries creates new opportunities for the development of tourism, cultural, and business ties.
The initiative has already been highly praised by tour operators and the business community. Experts believe that the direct flight will significantly simplify logistics and reduce travel time, which will help boost bilateral cooperation.
