Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The third round of Uzbek-Slovenian political consultations concluded in Tashkent, with Slovenia represented by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Marko Štucin.
During the talks, the two sides discussed the state and prospects of their bilateral relations, covering political, trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Special attention was given to strengthening high-level political dialogue and expanding diplomatic presence in both countries. An agreement was reached to enhance the diplomatic representations of Uzbekistan in Slovenia and Slovenia in Uzbekistan.
The participants expressed mutual interest in intensifying and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. As an important step in this direction, the next round of political consultations is planned for 2025 in Ljubljana.
The conclusion of the consultations coincided with recent events highlighting the strengthening of diplomatic ties: on 21 June, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov accepted the credentials of the new Slovenian Ambassador, and at the end of October, the first Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Slovenia (based in Budapest) presented copies of his credentials to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.
These actions reflect both countries’ commitment to further developing and deepening their relations.
