Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Alswaha, held a meeting to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation and implementing promising projects.
The discussions focused on the development of digital infrastructure, particularly in telecommunications and data exchange centers. Special attention was given to the preparation of IT specialists through educational programs and upskilling initiatives.
The parties explored opportunities to expand IT outsourcing and promote Uzbekistan’s digital potential internationally.
Proposals were made to establish regional offices for Arab companies in Uzbekistan and create favorable conditions for the development of the startup ecosystem.
In turn, the prospects of adopting Saudi Arabia’s experience in digital transformation in Uzbekistan were discussed, along with the creation of new jobs in the IT sector and expansion in the digital outsourcing industry.
Following the meeting, an agreement was signed to strengthen cooperation between the two ministries.
The agreement is expected to elevate IT ties between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to a new level.
