Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nodirjon Turgunov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia for Consular Affairs Ali Al-Yusuf discussed the possibility of simplifying the visa regime for citizens of Uzbekistan.

According to the Dunyo agency, the sides discussed the timing of consultations on consular and legal issues between the foreign ministries of the two countries. The prospects for simplifying the visa regime for citizens of Uzbekistan were also considered.

Ali Al-Yusuf emphasized that Uzbekistan is actively developing and hosting important international events. In particular, the successful holding of the second meeting of foreign ministers of the strategic dialogue "Central Asia - Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf" in April was noted.

It was mentioned that the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries was successfully held in Riyadh in March 2024.

Ali Al-Yusuf noted that Saudi Arabia is pleased that from 1 January 2023, Saudi citizens can enter Uzbekistan without a visa for 30 days. In his opinion, this contributes to an increase in tourist flows and an increase in mutual trade volumes.
