Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan and Russia plan to continue developing cooperation in the tourism sector, including the implementation of joint investment projects. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Trade Mission in Uzbekistan.

According to the information, on 31 July, a working meeting was held in Tashkent with representatives from the Russian Trade Mission, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Jamshid Abdusalomov.

The parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation in the tourism industry, including the coordination of mutual visits by tour operators from both countries and the implementation of joint investment projects.

It was noted that in the coming days, an Uzbek delegation plans to visit regions of Russia to present Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.

According to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the number of trips by Russian tourists to Uzbekistan has increased tenfold over the past four years, from 37,000 to 403,000 people.

In 2023, citizens of Uzbekistan made over 800,000 trips to Russia, doubling the 2022 figure.
