Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin held talks in Tashkent.
The parties discussed the preparations for the forthcoming events - the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the visit of the representatives of the regions of Uzbekistan to the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as the interregional forum, which will serve as a substantive and qualitative filling of the agenda of the meetings of the leaders of the two countries.
The parties discussed the draft five-year Economic Cooperation Program and examined the concept and scenario of the Interregional Forum of Uzbekistan and Russia.
During the talks, Jamshid Khodjaev proposed to intensify cooperation with the specialized agencies of the national export support system (Russian Export Center, Roseximbank and Exiar), as well as establish partnership relations between the banks of Uzbekistan and Vnesheconombank.
Maxim Oreshkin supported the proposal to create wholesale distribution networks and transport and logistics hubs in the border areas of Uzbekistan and Russia. In addition, this project will provide an opportunity to form an effective logistics network to meet the needs of business entities to provide transport and logistics and freight forwarding services, as well as the development of optimal schemes for the transport of goods and logistics chains.
During his stay in Tashkent, Maxim Oreshkin also met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov and Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov.
