Uzbekistan and Mongolia intensify and deepen partnership in the field of agriculture

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 November 2022, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov held a meeting with the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Bolorchuluun Kkhayangaa via videoconference.

The topic of the meeting was the activation and deepening of partnership and the expansion of practical cooperation in the agricultural sector of the two countries.

The sides discussed top-level agreements, joint livestock breeding, the creation of meat processing facilities in Uzbekistan, etc. 

“We attach particular importance to strengthening trade relations. In January-September of this year, mutual supplies of agricultural and food products increased by more than 2.5 times and reached almost US$3 million. We are interested in continuing to increase the volume of meat imports from Mongolia, and we propose to increase the supply of Uzbek fruits and vegetables, in particular grapes, melons, cabbages, apricots, as well as food products such as confectionery and bakery products, wines and others,” Aziz said. Voitov.

The ministers also discussed the creation of joint farms in Mongolia for breeding livestock and the subsequent export of meat to Uzbekistan and the creation of joint processing facilities in Uzbekistan.
