Uzbekistan and Malaysia: Strengthening cooperation in green economy and innovation development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 January 2025, a delegation from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Economy, YB Dato’ Hajah Hanifah Hajar Taib, in Kuala Lumpur.

During the meeting, Malaysia’s successful experience in sustainable economic growth, efficient resource management, renewable energy development, and regional economic stimulation was extensively discussed. These priorities align closely with Uzbekistan’s goals of economic diversification and green development.

The parties explored prospects for cooperation in the following areas:

Green Economy: Joint projects to expand the use of renewable energy sources, develop climate adaptation strategies, and reduce carbon emissions;

Technological Innovation: Technology transfer, integration of scientific research into the economy, and the development of digital solutions;

Human Capital Development: Organizing seminars and training programs to share expertise in preparing young professionals, with a systematic focus on labor market dynamics.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain regular dialogue and expand cooperation in key areas that will yield mutual benefits.

This partnership establishes a critical platform for implementing Uzbekistan’s Green Economy Strategy through 2030, built on integrating international expertise and resources.
