Uzbekistan and Korea to launch third phase of vocational education development project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alisher Muratov, Deputy Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Park Seong Ho, President of Keimyung University of the Republic of Korea, as well as representatives from the KOICA Office in Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, a tripartite memorandum of cooperation was signed, marking the launch of the third phase (2025–2027) of the "Development of Uzbekistan's Vocational Education System" project. The project has been implemented since 2019 at the Regional Center for Vocational Skills in Samarkand Region.
Under the agreements reached, the third phase will see the supply of modern equipment in 22 areas, including welding and information technology, with a total value of 500,000 US dollars, funded by KOICA.
In previous phases of the project, around 500 unemployed citizens underwent vocational training in areas such as mechanical engineering technologies, computer graphics, and design. The selection of 21 graduates who successfully completed their training enabled them to continue their education at Keimyung University.
