Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan sign an agreement on regulating the activities of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation “Central Asia”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the sidelines of the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Tashkent, an Agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on regulating the activities of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation “Central Asia”.

On the Uzbek side, the document was signed by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, on the Kazakh side by the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliev.

The tasks of the Center include:

- creating favorable conditions for the development of interstate cooperation ties and international value chains;

- increasing the efficiency of using the production base of border territories;

- optimization of production processes, modernization and increasing the competitiveness of industrial enterprises in the Center;

- expansion of industrial cooperation between the two states and establishment of production of import-substituting products and others.
