Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5–6 February 2025, representatives of Uzbekiston Temir Yullari (Uzbekistan Railways) and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways) held a meeting focused on the development of freight transportation.

The talks were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways, A.A. Kamiljanov, Chairman of KTZ-Freight Transportation, V.V. Petrov, and officials from relevant agencies of both countries.

The parties discussed measures to increase railway cargo volumes between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, optimize train formation, and organize regular freight transportation along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan route.

As a result of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Uztemiryulkonteyner JSC and Kazakhstan’s Kedentransservice JSC. The agreement aims to enhance the efficiency of existing logistics infrastructure, develop transport and forwarding services, and launch container block trains to improve trade connectivity between the two nations.
