Uzbekistan and Japan Agree to Employ 10,000 Uzbek Citizens Over Five Years
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Agency for External Labor Migration of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Japan-China-Asia Medical Educational Cultural Exchange General Incorporated Foundation (JCAEMCE) have signed an agreement to facilitate the employment of 10,000 Uzbek citizens in Japan over the next five years, according to the agency’s press service.
As part of the initiative, specialized training centers under the program Yapon Mahorat Nuri will be launched in Tashkent, as well as in the Samarkand and Namangan regions. These centers will provide instruction in the Japanese language and essential professional skills, helping participants pass qualification exams and prepare for employment in Japan.
In addition, a digital platform called WiseBridge is set to launch in June 2025. It will allow job seekers to independently search for vacancies, communicate directly with Japanese employers, and process necessary documentation online.
The Agency for External Labor Migration encourages all interested citizens to call +998 71 202 33 55 (ext. 545) for more information and consultation.
During the Uzbek delegation’s visit to Japan, the two sides also discussed steps to simplify visa procedures, digitize the migration application process, and reduce the time required to obtain entry permits.
Agreements were reached on improving legal protections for Uzbek nationals working in Japan and on measures to prevent illegal labor migration.
Commenting on the talks, Japan’s Minister of Justice, Keisuke Suzuki, stated: "The technical internship program and simplified visa procedures for highly skilled professionals open new opportunities for Uzbek citizens. They will be able to work legally and safely, gain valuable professional experience, and thrive in Japan’s high-cultural workplace environment."
