Uzbekistan and Iran leaders discuss bilateral agenda
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 1 April, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone conversation, during which they warmly congratulated each other and the people of both countries on the spring holiday of Navruz and the sacred Eid al-Fitr, wishing peace, prosperity, and well-being.
The two sides thoroughly discussed key issues concerning the further development of Uzbekistan-Iran multi-dimensional cooperation in line with the agreed-upon "roadmap."
They noted with satisfaction the intensification of contacts and mutual visits at various levels.
There has been a dynamic growth in trade volumes and cargo transportation, an increase in the number of joint ventures, the establishment of regular direct flights between the capitals, and the expansion of business, cultural, and humanitarian ties.
Special attention was given to the accelerated implementation of joint projects in the chemical and petrochemical industries, textile and food industries, agriculture, construction materials production, and other sectors.
The importance of successfully holding the upcoming meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, business forum, and industrial exhibition in Tehran was emphasized.
The leaders of the two countries also exchanged views on key international and regional issues.
