Uzbekistan and Iran enter a new stage of cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 15 November, as part of the InnoWeek.uz-2024 international innovation week, the Uzbek-Iranian business forum dedicated to innovative technologies took place.

The event was attended by over 80 companies, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the scientific community and government agencies from both Uzbekistan and Iran. Among the participants were local authorities and specialists from various institutions.

In their speeches, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khaylimjon Safarov, leaders from the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Ministry of Innovative Development, and entrepreneurs emphasized the necessity of advancing Uzbekistan-Iran cooperation to a new level in areas such as the economy, social policy, and, most importantly, innovative technologies and science.

The Ambassador of Iran to Uzbekistan, Mohammadali Iskandari, highlighted key aspects of technological cooperation between the two countries:

Firstly, investments in the technology sector bring significant benefits.

Secondly, the prosperity and development of nations are directly dependent on the production of technological products.

Thirdly, eliminating technological gaps is a far more challenging task.

Fourthly, achieving technological progress is impossible without collaboration with foreign partners, the ambassador noted.

During the B2B meetings held in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and healthcare, agriculture, livestock and veterinary medicine, information technologies, oil and gas, chemical industries, and mining and metallurgy, Iranian entrepreneurs expressed interest in jointly developing new innovative products with their Uzbek counterparts.
