Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chairman of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Iran, Maryam Jalali Dehkordi.

During the meeting, key issues of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector and prospects for further development were discussed.

Special attention was given to increasing tourist flows between the two countries across various sectors, including pilgrimage, craft tours, and educational tourism.

"We see significant potential in developing tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran," noted the representative of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee. "We are confident that joint efforts will attract more tourists from Iran and open new opportunities for Uzbek travelers."

The parties discussed participation in tourism events, organizing joint press and info tours, and enhancing the qualifications of tourism specialists. They reached an agreement to develop a memorandum of understanding that will cover all areas and aspects of cooperation.

"We believe that the memorandum will be an important step in developing tourism relations between our countries," emphasized Maryam Jalali Dehkordi. "We hope that this cooperation will contribute to strengthening cultural ties and mutual prosperity."
