Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit to the United States, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, met with Anil Nanduri, Vice President of INTEL.
On 13 August, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with initiatives aimed at developing startup projects in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and IT. The presentation covered measures for advancing AI technologies in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, banking, taxation, and customs.
During the meeting with INTEL representatives, discussions focused on accelerating the implementation of AI technologies, the corporation’s work on applying these technologies in medicine and education, and the presentation of future strategic steps.
The minister highlighted the importance of AI technologies in executing Uzbekistan’s digital transformation strategy. He also introduced efforts to build a "Green" data center in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s DataVolt and discussed the AI strategy.
The minister shared various opportunities available to foreign IT companies with resident status at IT Park Uzbekistan and outlined plans for implementing AI and digital transformation across various sectors.
In particular, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in AI technologies and infrastructure projects, as well as opportunities for collaboration in data center development.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to jointly implement projects supporting education and research in AI in Uzbekistan, alongside INTEL, and to cooperate in the adoption of advanced technologies.
