Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The aviation authorities of India and Uzbekistan have revised the terms of their air services agreement, reports Economic Times.
Under the new agreements, the number of flights between the two countries will increase.
Currently, airlines are permitted to operate up to 14 flights per week. However, once the changes take effect, this number will double to 28 flights.
The new terms are expected to boost the frequency of regular flights between cities in Uzbekistan and India, currently serviced by Uzbekistan Airways and IndiGo airlines.
Experts note that the government of Narendra Modi previously took a cautious approach to liberalizing air agreements, aiming to protect domestic carriers.
However, Delhi has now started to gradually expand routes, fostering the development of international transportation links.
