Uzbekistan and Germany discuss current issues of bilateral relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 August 2024, the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a meeting with Manfred Huterer, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan.*

The meeting addressed current issues and prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation in priority areas.

Opportunities for developing investment cooperation were discussed. Currently, 221 enterprises with German investment operate in Uzbekistan, including 107 joint ventures and 114 fully German-owned companies.

The discussion also covered the implementation of previously agreed projects in metallurgy, agriculture, electrical engineering, and chemical industries. There was an emphasis on the readiness to provide comprehensive support for new joint investment initiatives on a reciprocal basis.

Additionally, a schedule and key organizational details for joint activities in 2024-2025 were agreed upon.

Following the meeting, both parties confirmed their strong commitment to further deepening and expanding cooperation in all discussed areas of bilateral relations.
