Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held a working meeting with Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom.

During the talks, the parties thoroughly reviewed the current implementation of the Strategic Memorandum of Cooperation in the Energy Sector between the Government of Uzbekistan and Gazprom. The document outlines expanded collaboration in key areas such as the supply and transportation of natural gas, geological exploration, and hydrocarbon field development.

Special attention was given to the supply of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan, which began in October 2023. These deliveries are carried out in reverse mode via a dedicated route through Kazakhstan, using the Central Asia–Center trunk gas pipeline system.

Both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further advancing cooperation in the energy sector, emphasizing the strategic importance of the projects being implemented under the intergovernmental memorandum.
