The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that the sides exchanged opinion on perspectives of development of the Uzbek-French dialogue. The sides affirmed their interest in deepening political, economic, cultural-humanitarian interaction, as well as expanding contacts in various levels.

According to the statistics, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France grew twice year-on-year to US$354 million in 2011.

Currently, several leading French companies are working on implementation of joint investment programmes in Uzbekistan.

The press service of the ministry said that positive trends are also observed in other spheres of cooperation.

During the meeting, the sides discussed preparation to upcoming events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishing of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and France.
