Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva met with Deputy Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of the Arab Republic of Egypt Phoebe Fawzi Girgis, who arrived in our country to participate in the Asian Women’s Forum in Samarkand.

During the dialogue, issues of expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt, including in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties were considered.

During the conversation, the parties noted the need to exchange experience on issues raised at the forum, in particular, on expanding the economic opportunities of women and their participation in innovation.

At the same time, the importance of supporting women, especially in rural areas, was especially emphasized.

An agreement was also reached on using the capabilities of parliaments to implement joint projects in such areas as healthcare, science, and education.
