Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Dilshod Rasulov, met with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus, Stavros Stavro, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Cyprus to Uzbekistan, Kypros Giorgallis.
During the meeting, issues of expanding trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Cyprus were discussed. Special attention was paid to areas such as the leather and footwear, agricultural, textile, winemaking, and viticulture industries.
The meeting also considered the re-signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Chambers of Commerce of the two countries, which was originally signed in 2007.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to host a delegation from the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce for business meetings between companies from both countries.
As a result of the meeting, a decision was made to develop measures to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and organize mutual visits of delegations to increase the volume of mutual trade.
