Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution approving an international agreement.

The resolution ratifies the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

This agreement was signed on January 24, 2024, during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to China.

The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change has been designated as the competent authority responsible for implementing the provisions of the agreement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has been tasked with notifying the Chinese side of the completion of all domestic procedures required for the agreement to come into force, as well as informing them of the designation of the responsible authority for its execution.

Once the agreement is in effect, the Cabinet of Ministers and the heads of relevant ministries and agencies are instructed to oversee the proper implementation of the agreement’s provisions.
