Uzbekistan and China Sign Memorandum on Cooperation in Industry and Agriculture
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 August 2025, a meeting took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a delegation from the Ili-Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber Dilshod Rasulov and the head of the Chinese delegation Zhang Jinping.
During the talks, both sides discussed elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level. Special attention was given to launching joint projects in agriculture and agricultural processing, beverage production, computing and high technologies, mining and metallurgical industries, as well as organizing international exhibitions and business forums.
The parties also explored ways to strengthen interaction in economic, trade, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Participants emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership and expressed readiness to create new opportunities for entrepreneurs in both countries.
As a result of the negotiations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed. The document provides for the deepening of trade and economic ties, creation of joint ventures in industry and agriculture, development of technology exchange, and establishment of favorable conditions for business.
The agreement is also significant for diversifying Uzbekistan’s economy, increasing export potential, and attracting foreign investment.
