Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a resolution approving an international agreement.
In accordance with the resolution, the Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China has been ratified. The agreement aims to prevent theft, illegal excavations, and the illicit import and export of cultural property.
The agreement was signed on 24 January 2024, in Beijing during President Mirziyoyev’s visit to China.
The Cultural Heritage Agency has been designated as the competent body responsible for implementing this international agreement.
The Cabinet of Ministers, along with heads of relevant ministries and departments, will oversee the enforcement of the agreement’s provisions once it comes into effect.
