Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Negotiations on the development of Uzbekistan’s leather industry were recently held in China.

A delegation from the “Uzcharmsanoat” Association, led by First Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Nozimjon Kholmurodov, met with representatives of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Guangzhou.

The discussions focused on the modernization of the leather and footwear industry, Uzbekistan’s production potential, and its export opportunities. The Chinese side reviewed the infrastructure of industrial zones identified as attractive for foreign investors.

Chinese companies expressed interest in implementing joint projects in specialized small industrial zones for leather production, including capacity expansion, the adoption of new technologies, and enhancement of export potential.

The Uzbek delegation presented an overview of the country’s position in domestic and international markets, its logistics capabilities, and prospects for international cooperation.

The negotiations with CCPIT marked an important step in expanding bilateral economic cooperation and advancing Uzbekistan’s leather industry to a new stage of development.
