Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in the Chinese capital between Gayané Umerova, Chairperson of the Fund for the Development of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan under the Cabinet of Ministers, and Sun Yeli, Minister of Culture of the People’s Republic of China.

During the talks, both sides highlighted the successful implementation of joint projects in recent years, including exhibitions at the Imperial Palace of Gugun and the staging of the ballet “Lazgi” at the National Opera Theatre of China in Beijing.

Special attention was given to prospective initiatives, such as organizing an international SCO exhibition, holding an archaeological exposition at Gugun and the National Museum of Shanghai, as well as collaborative projects in the performing arts, including a production of the opera “Turandot” and cooperation with the renowned pianist Lang Lang.

It was also emphasized that from 5 September to 20 November, Uzbekistan will host the Bukhara Biennale “Recipes for Broken Hearts” for the first time, during which three Chinese artists will present joint projects with Uzbek masters.

The participants noted that the implementation of these initiatives will mark an important step in strengthening cultural dialogue and expanding creative collaboration between Uzbekistan and China.
