Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Alisher Shukurov met with representatives of the delegation from the China Cotton Industry Development Administration XUAR.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further expanding bilateral relations in areas of cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Alisher Shukurov noted that the relations between Uzbekistan and China are actively developing, particularly in areas such as cotton farming, seed production, and the introduction of new innovative technologies.
Special attention was given to the fact that in 2024, Chinese seeds were imported into Uzbekistan, and the "Xinjiang" technology was implemented on cotton fields in the country, marking a turning point in this area.
In turn, the Chinese delegation presented their initiatives for further developing cooperation. Delegates from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, highlighting their achievements in cotton farming, expressed interest in systematically expanding relations with Uzbekistan in this field.
During the dialogue, Alisher Shukurov emphasized that Uzbekistan is ready to expand cooperation not only in cotton farming but also in livestock, fruit and vegetable processing, and other agricultural sectors with China.
At the end of the meeting, further plans for developing bilateral cooperation were outlined.
